Face Reading

coming soon

Sāmudrika-Śāstra face reading — the classical Indian tradition of reading character from facial proportions and features. (Coming soon)

A note on what’s coming

This reading is on the way. The classical sources behind it have been assembled and the citations have been prepared — the surface itself opens to early invitees first, and to the wider service shortly after.

We don’t open a reading to the public until every claim it makes can name its classical source. When this one lands, the discipline will be the same as the readings already live.

About This Reading

What This Reading Is, And How It Works

Sāmudrika-Śāstra reads the body as a chart in its own right. The face-reading tradition examines proportions, features, and marks of the face to read character, temperament, and life-pattern indicators — alongside (not instead of) the natal astrological chart.

What This Reading Tells You

  • Indicators read from the proportions and features of the face per classical Sāmudrika.
  • How these readings reinforce or qualify the natal-chart indications.
  • Classical sources cited — primarily Varāhamihira’s Bṛhat Saṁhitā Ch.68–70 and the Sāmudrika Tilaka tradition.

Classical Tradition

Face reading in the Indian tradition is documented in Varāhamihira’s Bṛhat Saṁhitā chapters 68–70 and in the medieval Sāmudrika Tilaka compendia. The tradition treats body-features as one of three primary reading-frames, alongside the chart and the palm.

How We Compute It

When you share a photograph, our vision pipeline extracts the classical features — facial proportions, mark positions, eye shape, and others — and matches them against the classical Sāmudrika descriptors. The photograph is processed gently and discarded after the indicators are recorded.
