About This Reading
What This Reading Is, And How It Works
Sāḍe Sātī is the seven-and-a-half-year transit of Saturn through the lunar mansion before, of, and after your natal Moon. Vedic tradition treats it as a period of structural maturation — Saturn’s discipline applied to the mind and emotions. Almost everyone goes through it two or three times across a lifetime.
What This Reading Tells You
- Whether you are currently in Sāḍe Sātī, and which of the three phases (rising, peak, setting).
- When the period began, when each phase transitions, and when it ends.
- Past and upcoming Sāḍe Sātī periods across your lifetime.
- Classical interpretation of each phase — typical themes, areas of life affected, traditional remedial postures.
Classical Tradition
The Sāḍe Sātī framework is grounded in BPHS Ch.41 and the Phaladīpikā treatment of Saturn transits. Indian astrological tradition reads Saturn as the planet of structure, discipline, and karmic ripening. The seven-and-a-half years are divided into three phases, each emphasizing different life-areas.
How We Compute It
We compute Saturn’s ongoing sidereal position and compare it to your natal Moon’s lunar mansion. The first phase begins when Saturn enters the sign before your natal Moon; the peak phase is Saturn over your natal Moon; the setting phase is Saturn in the sign after. The dates flow from Saturn’s actual transit speed.
How To Read The Result
Sāḍe Sātī is not a disaster — it is a phase of slowing down and consolidation. The discomfort it brings is typically the discomfort of growth: relationships re-evaluated, work-life recalibrated, body and habits reformed. The classical recommendation is patience, simplicity, and dāna (charitable giving).
